High Chancellor of Okan

The Okanaese high Chancellor holds saw over more land than any other and commands an army of immense size. It is a great an cruel empire that is currently more concerned with its own internal politics than any external matters. The empire is insular and dictatorial, acts of rebellion occur at all ranks and all time of day. Commanding the greatest empire on the continent, with no checks or balances, certainly has its perks however.

Qualifications

Fluency in the Okanese high speech, and the approving vote of the consulate. Reaching such a position is a lifetime's worth of work, and the competition is high. Anybody attempting to be even close to this position will have had to murder doezens to do so if not hundreds.

Requirements

They must be a native highborn Okanese, trained in the high speech, and may never have uttered a word of the low tongue. Beyond this there is no leading physical requirement, although a natural charisma and imposing demeanor are expected.

Appointment

A "Vote" is held by the Okanese consulate. At this point such an action is ceremonial at best, and would better be described as an endorsement, or pledge. If a vote is about to take place, the competition and indeed the consulate are likely to receive threats or worse.

Duties

With absoloute power comes an absolute ability to delegate responsibility. Other than making enough of an impression to maintain the rank there are no longer any specific requirement. Galas and parties are expected fare, as are elaborate ceremonies, and political games. They need not be held, but a swift death may ensue.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The High chancellor is typically removed by execution or assassination. No subordinate would dare follow a formal process of deposition if indeed any record of the procedure could be found.
