Stonesthrow Guardhouse
The Stonesthrow Guardhouse has many uses, but outside of the guard themselves, people know it as the place where thieves are kept while awaiting trial. The Crystal Traders take theft from the guild very seriously and will make sure that those who are caught are given suitable punishment.
The guardhouse itself is more like a complex, with three distinct areas all linked together to form a whole. These areas are divided into the guards' quarters, the cells, and the court.
The guards' quarters is comfortably furnished and has a large kitchen, a living area, and bunk rooms for those on duty. While it is a fully functional living space, it varies quite widely how many guards are staying there at any given time. Many of them choose to stay with their families in the town instead of at the guardhouse, but many will stay just when they are on duty.
The cells are not nearly so comfortable, but they are certainly livable. Inmates are by themselves with thick walls between each cell and none of the cells facing another. That way, the people kept there awaiting trial can only judge who is in the other cells by voice alone and it is much harder to communicate to form any kind of escape plan. In addition, the guardhouse employs the use of lightning spells to zap anyone who comes close to one of the "weak spots" of the cells where inmates might have a slim chance of escaping. No cell is perfect, but it would take a large amount of tolerance for lightning magic to be able to make it out.
The court stands empty most of the time, but it is where a judge, the inmate, and the Crystal Traders members necessary gather for a trial. The trials are not known to be terribly fair, but every thief is given at least a hearing.
