New cure for Crystal Sickness

Crystal Sickness was uncurable for hundreds of years and those suffering its effects could not be helped except with herbs and other ways of managing symptoms. However, the Northlanders have slowly been working on technology of their own to combat the rising numbers of affected people in their country.

Utility

The machines scan the body of the affected person and use a combination of elements to surround them and correct the imbalance in the body. This technology became vital as the people of the Northern Lands began to realize that they would not be able to expand their settlements further without many contracting severe Crystal Sickness.

Manufacturing

While existing manufacturing processes can make parts of this machine, there is currently no way to mass produce the final product and it must instead be put together by hand. This has created a dangerous situation for those involved in production: they must use overcharged crystals to power and use the machine. Because the only ones easily available are fire and air crystals, they must overcharge the other elemental crystals on their own, not only risking contracting Crystal Sickness themselves, but also risking the discovery that the technology being used in the Northern Lands is, in fact, powered by mages.
Parent Technologies
Access & Availability
As this is a new technology, it is only available for the most extreme cases. However, it is being developed for more common use throughout the Northern Lands. Its development has so far been kept secret from the rest of the world and there is every intention for it to remain that way.
Complexity
This is perhaps the most advanced piece of crystal tech to date, using more crystals and much more intricate machinery to function than anything else. As such, it is both costly and difficult to produce, as the manufacturing tech has not yet caught up with what is required to assemble a single one of these machines.
