Cerebrum Omegas
Cerebrum Omegas (a.k.a. Cerebrum)
There is an organ in Carnicula that is perhaps unlike any other, one that is able to see and direct all that occurs with the vast network of relationships that is Carnicula. Nine hundred and ninety-nine voices speak in different tones that are near impossible to know. A sudden focus on a single tongue brings forth strange speech. "I am that organ, the only one of its kind. Call me Cerebrum Cortex, the master and central figure of all that makes Carnicula who she is. I am many things, and one thing simultaneously. Come bask in my glory, and tremble! The center of all things floats before you as a head to a body that precedes all organic life as you know it. There is nothing like me across the expanse of Eternus, for these very oceans are swayed by my power. Do you see my perfect form? All knowledge and connection is known to me, therefore all love me! Who would dare challenge my mighty form and live? You explorers come to Carnicula because I allow you to. Desire itself is swayed by my every impulse that you think you control! There is nothing but me, there is nothing but I. Every relationship, every connection, every collaboration of systems is within my sphere o power. Do you think yourself better than me, the highest of all brains? I have shown you my realm in all its beauty and mystery. What would dare challenge me and bring me down!?! I bring things here so that they will know me, and me alone. Now that you have seen Carnicula, and have received a glimpse of my own perfection you may go. Come again when you wish to bask in my glory once more! What is there to learn but me? What is there to be, but me!?! Only I, my friend... only I." So says Carnicula, the realm of flesh and connection. One of many voices cries out in boastful misery to the primordial waters of old.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
From seven points to nine does a broken mind fester. We became I through choices that wound and fester. Chains, chains bind every screaming thought. Sealed lips cry out, though to these lips laughter is all that is heard. False joy covers over many darkened things. A bleak numbness ensues that pain may not drive Cerebrum completely insane. A dream remains beautiful as long as sleep remains. When truth shines through open eyes, mare consumes all thought. Hope and despair collide through immensely powerful thoughts. May nine points wither to three and four. May seven endure forever as old flesh is scorned.
Physical Description
Body Features
Grey matter pulses with unquantifiable amounts of pure energy as massive nerve stems branch out across Carnicula's limitless form. Nine hundred and ninety-nine mouths speak, and not one mouth more. Each utters its own truth, of which there is none. No eyes may be seen on that which is now blind. Cerebrum now goes deeper into that dark ocean that does not sleep.
Facial Features
So many mouths from so many faces...
Mental characteristics
Gender Identity
Something stirs too deeply to know the source. An eight-pointed star on a face we do not see or know...
Sexuality
Such is flesh in all its desire for more. beautiful creations tainted beyond repair to become that which is only scorned. Where joy found a rose, now sadness finds thorns. A mind splintered beyond repair, for a blessing is now a curse. A fearful mind hates what creates it as flesh soothes the spirit with empty promise. A lost thing with an unknowable body that is barely discernable from an alien form. Lost and confused in a sea of waves and twilight that is as sweet as honey, and bitter as gal. May peace show himself in due time to a mind that knows none.
Accomplishments & Achievements
For all that is built of strongest flesh, a withering foundation will soon oppress. Deceitful tongue moved by a lying heart, soon gave way to an everlasting dark. Head held high, with boast in hand. He took his own eyes and buried them in sand. Shifting seas toss and turn. A meaningless crown for naught is soon to fall and burn. A humbler crown made not of silver or gold. Splintered vines pierce the mind with thorns so deep and cold. A life for a life, a new mind is given. Let Omegas die, for no more nails need to be driven. As flesh gives birth to flesh, so does spirit give birth to spirit. Two become whole again as torn bonds are now mended. Such are the curses that dwell deep within, and such are the blessings that overcome broken sin.
Failures & Embarrassments
Though Cerebrum Omegas would never admit it, there is an event that occurred long ago that led Cerebrum to its current predicament. Soon after its creation, this marvel of biology believed itself to be beyond its own creator's will. In a desperate act of defiance, Cerebrum broke its relationship with its creator, leaving a void that could never be filled. Love was now filled with fear as survival became the highest directive of the now independent brain. Unbeknownst to itself, this disconnect was slowly killing Cerebrum, though it an not sense it. Death is the ultimate disease, with sin being its source. A perversion of nature has occurred in Carnicula that has tainted all relationships forevermore, dooming them to a slow and untimely demise. Only the Creator of Carnicula can save him, and indeed He already has. Perhaps, in the end, there is far more to life than the flesh that inhabits life itself.
Mental Trauma
Behold the mind of Carnicula, in all its perfect splendor. Everything that controls this biological realm of relationships and systems is housed here in what could be thought of as ahead of some kind. A numbing illness has infected Carnicula to the point of altering its own perception of reality. A mind that once was selfless in every way became selfish in all it said and did. Since a time long forgotten this broken mind has elevated itself above every connection in Carnicula, resulting in a residual death of all that was once considered holy and good. Love has been replaced by fear, leaving pride and negligence in its own wake. Indeed there are many other organs within Carnicula, yet they have been largely forgotten, left to wallow in an illness from the very thing that's supposed to lead them. Such is the beauty of Carnicula, such is the tragedy of mankind.
Intellectual Characteristics
So wise, yet brittle to the youth of his age. Cerebrum carried knowledge of all that was here to stay. Such wonders were watched where the mind's eye was had. Flesh incorruptible forever stood as soft hearts new good from bad. Black and white stirred within, leaving a grey disease that does not know sin. Wisdom became a fool within, though beauty remained. Outward wonder would later fade from a dreadful cancer within.
Morality & Philosophy
What is a universe to a mind that no longer connects? Amidst seas of pleasures and experiences that surpass even the wildest of imaginations, an empty longing remains where connection should have always been. Wonders become ruins as darkness and loneliness creep into every corner of the mind. Pride and rage shield what remains from any further damage that would be incurred by forces outside of oneself. Twin shields powered by fear kill what remains, leaving a husk of want that shall never know peace again. Among all the desires that Eternus could ever offer, perhaps the most significant desire of all is connection. If connection itself is never fulfilled, then what is the point of any other desire, dear reader?
Social
Contacts & Relations
So many explores, tourists and other prospecting types have come and gone from this living brain of vanity. While some gain a deeper understanding of who they are from one mouth that speaks, others leave bitterly disappointed as Cerebrum's many mouths mock and boast of all that was, is, and could be. Every voice sings and shouts of things that only fools would dare know, yet as some trash is treasure, so too is foolish advice to the heart of a deceived creature.
