Yarnha

The Windsower

The weather is a wild and unpredictable thing, and so is Yarnha. It’s not uncommon to hear a farmer sing her praise one day, only to curse it the next one. The nature of Yarnha is often argued about, some call her a goddess, while others think she is something else like and archdevil or a creature so inherent in the creation of the world that it has no name. Whatever the case, her presence can always be felt, be it in the slow caress of a warm summer’s breeze or in the tempest and cutting cold of a blizzard. While a temple is not often erected in her name one might often find a string of stone beads hang from the side of a farmer’s home or worn around the neck of a sun-tanned wanderer. Her symbol is one easily recreated in most places and prayers to her for good weather or a long needed rain are heard often. Not many depictions of the goddess exist, but even when seen she is said to appear mostly in the shape of a woman made from leaves or snow whipped up by a sudden gust. It’s not unusual for a person to claim to have seen the shape of a woman appear in the falling rain of a strong autumn storm, only to dissipate with the next sheet of droplets.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Her followers might have once seen her image or found her to be merciful when their crops needed rain most. Her worship comes in many forms, and as such a cleric of Yarnha might well be a simple farmer hoping for good weather or a priest on pilgrimage to sort out his inner turmoil. A lot of ships often employ clerics of Yarnha to pray for a safe journey and a strong breeze.
