The Shepherd King

Many pray and beg for guidance from the lord of fate and wanderers. From all the gods Uman may be the most involved in the doings of mortals, guiding their feet over unknown paths and bringing hope where there is none to be found. Few know the origins of one of the eldest deities in existence, but tales of his deeds are as much loved as cursed by many. If ever he is depicted it is in many forms, most commonly in the image of a human shepherd with grey hair and a beard tied in many knots. His shepherd's staff is said to be carved from the first stone and hung on it are the stars and the moon, swaying from day to night as he walks.

Those who have vowed to serve in his name often walk the land in humble woolen garbs and a shepherd’s staff in hand. They come from all walks of life, feeling compelled by the pull of fate and a desire to seek the road. While a cleric of Uman might find himself rewarded for a lucky twist of fate in his presence he is just as much cursed if something bad transpires in his vicinity. Dreams and visions ― real or not ― are often contributed to Uman, and so just as many good deeds have been done in his name as there have been horrible atrocities that were claimed to be the will of the deity.
