Isabella's Inn
Isabella's Inn has existed in Khilland longer than anyone can remember. Many have met Isabella, but its assumed that she is the descendant of the original owner. Her staff are notoriously close-lipped about the management of the inn, and it's probably for the best as the area is hotly contested by both the Northern States and Khilland Loyalists. No party, however, has ever been successful in taking the location. Every time someone tries to overrun the inn and take it, their entire force is wiped off of the face of the land, never to be seen again. Isabella claims no knowledge of the act, and her staff are not nearly enough to handle the forces that have been eliminated.
The small inn itself sits in a valley of the Montepeak foothills, along the west river. However, its popularity and position has lead the surrounding area to become a shanty town of tents, reusable structures, fires, and trading stands. A strong travelling culture has emerged within those that stay often in the area, and the camps are a popular winter stopping point for the Kabekona caravans that wander Khilland.
Architecture
The inn is a crooked wooden structure, two stories tall with a stone tower in the northeast corner. It sits on a stone foundation that houses a basement where many of the drinks are brewed. Cobblestone stairs run a path from the inn to the shanty town below.
The town itself is largely temporary, with ramshackle wooden structures, a few permanent stone houses for notable trading groups, a Company quartermaster, and many tents scattered anywhere that they can be pitched.
