Vesguard

Found deep within the Mountains of Dulhamir, vesguard is a ferrite metal which is especially potent against magic. It is mined and purified by the highly skilled Oakenmour dwarvish family, and therefore highly priced.

History & Usage

Refinement

The metal must be smelted down and purified within an Oakenmour Forge in order to be further forged into ingots. Because of vesguards molecular structure and its relation to magic, the purified ingots must be left in an anti-magic area for at least 50 days. If the ingots are used before this time expires, the vesguard will be weaker and will not be able to counter magic. This process is called Ingoting by the Oakenmour family.   If however, a vesguard ingot is left within an anti-magic field for up to 200 days, then its properties are greatly enhanced and the metal is called grand vesguard.
