The Double Isles of Odobe

"The Double Isles of Odobe are, if not unexplored, a largely unknown part of the world to most humans other than scholars and the most resolute merchants who would undertake the long journey to the isles. And that is a shame, as their beauty seeks its equal.

The sun-kissed and balmy isles are a lush and beautiful piece of land, far off to the south-east of Adhorin. The shores are always slightly shrouded by mist, which does not bear down on you but rather seems refreshing to the skin. The sun never glares but bathes everything in a clear light. And the colours! Lush green rainforests can be found in the continent's centre, valleys of chalk-stone carved out of the mountains and waterfalls whose base is hidden by the spray. Birds of paradise native to the isles greet you with their calls and the occasional flash of azure or ruby-red can be seen through the canopy.

The architecture of the Tsa Quang blends perfectly into these surroundings. I don't know how they managed to errect their magnificent pagodas on mountain tops and how they managed to construct the bridges connecting these building.

I was once invited by a lord of the Hika-Sue dynasty to his marvelous estate. I will never forget the cherry trees in blossom and the clear streams flowing through the land, filled with colourful fish. Lord Asa-Heno took me and his entourage, counting over five dozen servants and guards, out hunting for pheasants and we visited the Spring Meadow Falls in the Jade Forest. On the next day we climbed the highest peaks of the Hidden Sisters and I set eyes on a marvel I will never forget: A Cloud Dragon. From afar we could see it's serpentine body coiling among the clouds. It was accompanied by a dragon youngling and they seemed to be playing. The sight of these creatures was a rare privilege, as Lord Asa-Heno assured me.

Cloud dragons are much revered among the Tsa Quang and although they are rare they sometimes seek out human contact. What it must be like to stand in the presence of such a magnificent creature? I wonder...

I will always keep the memory of my visit to the Double Isles of Odobe in my heart."
