Illvan Venmys

Background

Illvan's family, in the Feywild, has been ruled by the same Eladrin for millennia. The youngest of five, he started as a soldier in his father's army, with reasonable success. After his brother left the Material Plane, he was sent there at the brother's recommendation, being considered the most capable of ruling.
In 3812, he assumed control of the Shadar-kai houses, which were few and sparse. During the rise in diplomatic tensions and the war, he led the effort to increase the houses' footholds, constructing new ones throughout their territory, and assuming a backline/support role, acting as spies and assassins.

Expansion of the houses

With his effort, the shadar-kai grew to the number they are today, with a focus on self-reliance and a strong, closely knit community. He also founded an orphanage, in one of the houses, to centralize the newly orphaned children of the many lost combatants, and ensure their proper education. He made sure to locate this house very close to his.

With the council

When he assumed power, Illvan met the other council members: a recently-promoted Hyacinth Naïlo, Fenris Lysanthir, the acting representative of the wood elves, and the then ruler of the high elves, Taerentym Kalnón. He formed a close friendship with Fenris, with Hyacinth joining them later, due mainly to their closeness in age. Taerentym acted as somewhat of a mentor and father figure, being much older than the other three.

Suspicions and paranoia

After the rise of Kolvar Kalnón to power and the release of the first mana bomb, Illvan started to pay closer attention. Reports of strange sights around the ruins of Khon Lodar prompted him to send scouts to investigate, retrieving samples which his clerics struggled to examine. The destruction of one of his northern houses not much after only increased his suspicions of treason, and he started making a conscious effort to keep his investigations secret, trusting only a handful of hand-picked people to aid him.
For the time being, he keeps his suspicions to himself, but he has tipped off Hyacinth and Fenris that something may be off.

Personality

Strict bastard but fair, is not usually in the mood for jokes. Very efficient, only speaks when he has something important to say. Very perceptive of his environment, is usually the first to notice if something is amiss. Is always prepared for the worst case scenario. Has a funny side when Fenris and Hyacinth decide to take him to the tavern and get him drunk.
