Andais

Queen of What-Lies-Beyond

Mortal life

Andais was born during the Titan age, as an Eladrin, the elves' ancestors. She trained and fought as a warrior of her tribe, consistently rising in ranks and skill.

Into the Hells

After a Titan encounter that almost wiped out her entire tribe, she met a devil, and left the material plane behind for the Nine Hells. She fought in the Blood War under the command of Tiamat, the then ruler of Avernus, being eventually rewarded with her first devilish form.   In the meantime, she was also acting as a diplomat between the various layers of the Nine Hells, when she met Belial, the then ruler of Phlegethos, who became infatuated with her. She saw the opportunity, and went with it, acting as his concubine for a time. During this time, she met Fierna, Belial's daughter, who was ambitious and wanted to rule the layer. At this time, Fierna was only a face, with her father acting as the only de facto ruler of Phlegethos, something which greatly annoyed her.   Striking a deal, Andais joined forces with Fierna, and disposed of Belial by tearing down his physical form into a mass of flesh, which is currently kept in a locked chest deep in Phlegethos' castle.

Ruling Phlegethos

After disposing of Belial, Fierna and Andais formed an alliance and took formal control of the third layer. Fierna kept control over most of the economic and military issues, while Andais was responsible for the more diplomatic duties.   Of course, Andais kept her personal armies, which continue to grow, much to Fierna's concern.

Council of the Three

Andais was introduced to Glasya by Fierna, her long time friend. Also highly ambitious and vying to depose her father, the three found some kind of kinship, forming a secret alliance with the objective of dethroning Asmodeus himself. Each of the Three has specific duties and targets, with Andais making extreme efforts to keep Dispater and Zariel occupied, and in their good side.

Ascension

After millennia away from the material plane, Andais decided to check on it. She found a very different world, and inhabitants, with most of her people either gone back to the Feywild, or now mutated into elves after generations of breeding.   During one of the battles of The Great War of Valanor, she directly intervened, killing hundreds in favor of the elven forces, completely turning the tide of the battle. She kept intervening in battles, often ending up completely covered in blood, earning her the nickname of The Red Lady.   Rumours spread throughout the elven soldiers, and it became somewhat common to call upon her when the battle was not going well. She started appearing from a portal gate, usually when the battle was almost lost, jumping into action while the screams of anguished souls echoed from the portal. She was now starting to be known as the Queen of What-Lies-Beyond, due to these displays of extra-planar magics.   After the war, some elves continued to pray to her, while the The Elven Council prohibited the worship of non-approved entities. A small cult began, rumors slowly spreading through Calanthia of Andais, who saw the opportunity and embraced her newfound divinity.   Relying on contracts to formalize her follower's status, she started lending her power in exchange for eternal service of her mortal followers, focusing on gathering talented people.
