Portents and Whispers

To the wide world, all seems as it should be. Yet, not all is well. Within the lands, tales spread of troubles and dark portents. The marauding giants of Skyholm sometimes come down from the mountains to attack the True Kingdom, while escaped orcs from Damalith roam across the wilds of Meranthis, attacking unsuspecting travelers and burning villages. Malevolent schemes plague the shadows of the cities of humanity, and the elves struggle with the threat of the Shadowfell.
Worst of all, whispers of a nameless fear has slowly begun to spread, and frightened travelers speak of encounters with strange, grotesque creatures. Across the Great Chasm, something has begun to stir in the long-forgotten realm of Nengurth. Whatever is to come to pass, Meranthis stands upon the edge of a knife, as a shadow begins to creep back into the world, and none know who will stand against it.
