Causes

Fever is caused by a lack of connection to magical energies often brought on by staying in the Mortal Realm too long.

Symptoms

• High Fever

• Exhaustion/Fatigue

• Nausea

• Anemia

• Loss of Appetite

• Insomnia

• Depression

• Loss of Powers

• Weight Loss

• Suicidal Thoughts/Ideation

• Paranoia

Treatment

The best treatment is to return to the Faerie Realm and rest a few days. Energies will replenish quickly. Alternatively, consuming Cream will ease the symptoms of Fever for a time.

Prognosis

The initial symptoms manifest as low energy, insomnia, loss of appetite, and nausea. After a few weeks without treatment, anemia will begin to show, accompanied by magic paralysis, weight loss, and intermittent high temperature. Paranoia and depressive symptoms set in around 6 months without treatment. If treatment is not provided, death is imminent. Common causes include stroke, heart attack, malnutrition, suicide, and organ (usually renal) failure.

Sequela

Upon returning to the Faerie Realm, most symptoms fade quickly. Fatigue persists several days until the magical energies are replenished.
