Dream Fae

One of the more deadly powers of dream fae is fabrication, the ability to transfer injuries and images from the dreamscape to reality. Those attacked by dream fae often report being breathless due to fear, crushing, and choking while sleeping. To date, five deaths have been attributed to dream fae who have invaded dreams and attacked the sleeper.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

Dream Fae reproduce in the same way as other fae and mortals, but can also fabricate offspring within a dream. These children are a specialized subspecies called Murasmor and have a profound connection with the Dream Realm.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dream Fae growth slows at about age 20 to a near halt and resumes around age 100. Healthy Dream Fae will live to 155 on average.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Dream Fae feed their bodies like other fae. They enjoy red meats, pastas, and green vegetables most. Unlike other fae, their magical energy is derived from fear, and they will give others nightmares in order to feed. Exposure to lemon, lime, grapefruit, oranges, or other citruses will cause hives. Eating citrus is lethal.

Biological Cycle

Dream Fae have more energy at night. Around noon, they become tired and hungry or even cranky.

  • Time Portaling

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Dream Fae often keep @nightmares and @hellhounds as pets. Both species feed on fear but cannot generate it in others to the extent Dream Fae can. They serve their masters loyally in exchange for the energy generated by them.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Dream Fae will often name their children after symbols they see during pregnancy. Variations of animal names are common in both genders. Last names commonly refer to their parents or nobility. Titanus Noble and Ermine Raegus are prime examples of these conventions.

Beauty Ideals

Exotic colors are considered attractive, since most Dream Fae lack natural color. Yellow, red, and pink hair are ideal, as are blue or green eyes. As such, Dream Fae rarely court each other, though their power is sought out by other fae.

Courtship Ideals

Courtship varies by class and culture, but, due to their tendency to be leaders, most Dream Fae marriages are arranged. If more than one suitor presents to them, a courtship ball will be arranged.

History

Dream Fae have held positions of power in the Fairie Realm since The Great Divide. They are unarguably powerful and often took over land, kingdoms, or whole countries by force or coercion.
