A little advice for every new A.P.I.P agent...
Greetings, you must be the new agent (or just a curious soul who was intrigued by the title), I´m agent EC_USW_0613, or as most of my coworkers call me, Druid. I asume the people who brought you here already explain the basic to you, but we all know that is not enough, an as someone who has worked here for a while, maight as well give you a few tips based on previous experiences of differents agents including myself.
To begin with, I´d like to say that me and my wife are always available in case you need help, wheter it be something related to a mission or just emotional support, and that my lovely daugther and niece are not exception, just be a little bit more careful around them.
Now, let me introduce you to the five most useful pieces of advice I could give you to survive your new job:
- This agengy is kind enough to give us access to most of the resources available, something extremely useful after your firts mission, I cannot stress this enough, as there is a small possibility that something or someone may want to hurt you even when you are not working, so make good use of the given resources and always carry a weapon, something small and useful that you can easily hide, talking by experience.
- You´ll be constantly monitored by the L.S.I, with of course, some routine checks to learn a little bit more of your perk, I can promise is not going to be like what you see in horror movies, the procedures have been getting more... "human" after all the years, still, sometimes you might feel some pain and that pain could be what the scientist are expecting, but it isn´t torture, if you feel you can´t handle something just tell them, they´ll find a way to make it bearable for you, if they refuse, you have the right to complain and tell your lawyer, every team has one assigned to them and you can easily press charges againts them.
- The paranormal world is vast and filled with creatures that we don´t fully understand, but trust me, everyone asure you that it doesn´t mean tall of them are hostile, and while we might have to fight against some of them, that´s just the minority, for the record, most of the paranormal beings we fight aren´t sentient and are considerated dangerous for both worlds, with that in mind, you mght want to be a little careful with what you do or say and alweays look for the signs of an hostile beings, Im sure someone already explained that to you on your firts day but if you already forgot about it, just remember, in the paranormal world, if something feels "wrong" that means you might want to watch your back...
- You are allowed to take a day off, in fact, is highty adviced by everyone to do it everytime you feel like you need it, sounds like something extremely basic but trust me, most people feel guilty oncce they get involved in a mission but this is important, most if not all agents suffer from lots of stress that can lead to serious damage for your health, and we certainly don´t want that, as already mentioned, we have access to lots of resources, including medical help (goes without saying) so you can always look for a doctor or go to one of our therapists, we care about your mental health.
- By this point, you already realized that not every agent here is necessarily human, most of the rules about our previous advice about the paranormal world still apply, but of course we make sure we work with people that someone can trust, I highly encourage you to not being afraid of them, as you will see them very often and probably work with them on a few ocassions, there use to be an stigma around them back in the day, but we already erradicated it, most of it, there will always be someone who isn´t as nice as they should...
I wish you the best of luck, Druid.
