Afflictions
Even the Supernatural have sickness
We aren't immune to everything, sometimes no amount of healing ability can save you from it. Like the Hag's Mind afflictions mages get, you will likely get it as you age, well if you aren't careful.
Possession
Permanent: No
Symptoms: Personality changes, new ticks or quirks, change of character, etc.
Information: Spirits, ghost, hostile incorporeal beings taking over someone's body, where in the person looses all ability to act on their own. Even if willingly took into their body, the owner of the body has no control and what they see is limited to what the entity wants them to see. Those at greatest risk are those who dabble in the world of the dead or even undead.
Hag's Mind
Permanent: Yes.
Symptoms: Hallucinations, forgetfulness, loss of reality.
Information: Hag's Mind is not the real name for the affliction it is the most common known term. Hag's Mind or Brain Rot only happens to magic users. Abusive use of magic or an over usage of magic is what causes this. Generally the older the magic user the higher the chance of developing it. It is like a quick decent into madness, a very quick decent. They loose touch with reality over time and descend into their mania.
Zombification
Permanent: Yes.
Symptoms: Confusion, bloodshot eyes, craving for raw meat, need for sugar water.
Information: When the mindless undead roam, no one is safe. While most incidents involving the mindless undead are quickly dispatched and blames on various convenient outlets. Whether the mindless undead was created with either magic or science those who protect the Gauntlet are quick to take it down.
