Chapter overview

The Braythe: Shattered Realities Core Setting is divided into nine chapters. These chapters form three main sections: The first section, spanning from chapters 1-5, focus on the background and lore of Braythe and the world-island of Ashandri. The second section, containing the chapters 6-8, focus on rules, including character creation as well as monster, item and spell descriptions.   The third and last section provides you with a complete introductory adventure module: The Orphans of Vinesnake Hill. This adventure is available as a free ZIP download including a PDF book, artwork, tokens and maps. As a patron, you can also download a bonus package which provides you with additional tokens, maps and art!  
  • Chapter 1: Welcome to Braythe This chapter explains the basic elements of the dimension of Braythe, its connection to other planes, and the powers and champions of Braythe.
  • Chapter 2: The world-island of Ashandri In Chapter 2, you will find detailled information about the world-island of Ashandri and its champion, Marisha Veilbreaker. From tips and hints about how to build a campaign in this setting, to all the regions and other important locations of this world-island, up to a detailled overview of all important deities and pantheons in Ashandri. This chapter also includes information about the histories of Virthys and Ashandri, and commonly used calendars in the setting.
  • Chapter 3: The region of Delvaroth Delvaroth is the perfect starting region for a new group that wants to explore Ashandri. Here you will find detailled information, including maps you can use in your games, about the most important and well-known locations in Delvaroth. Learn about the secrets of the Void Fortress, meet the dwarves at the Tower of Memories, or send your players to the enchanted Arcanist Vault.
  • Chapter 4: Outsiders in Ashandri Not everyone you can meet in Ashandri actually comes from here. In the four years since its creation, a number of outsiders have come into the world, either as temporary guests or to find a new home for themselves. This chapter details all about them, from visitors from other worlds to the Voidborn and others.
  • Chapter 5: Organizations in Ashandri People with common goals tend to unite in organizations. This is no different for the inhabitants of Ashandri, and this chapter details some of the most important organizations you can use in your game. Some of them will be adversaries for your group, others might become allies. And in some cases, the player characters might be members of an organization themselves.
  • Chapter 6: New character options and rules Here you will find information on how to build a character that has survived the apocalypse of Virthys. Aside from creative inspiration, this chapter provides you with new races and subraces, a new Warlock patron and also new background options for your character.
  • Chapter 7: Creatures of Ashandri From the terrifying Perishing to the Unbound Spirits and newly created hybrid species of Ashandri, this chapter delivers background information and creature statistics for exciting encounters in Ashandri.
  • Chapter 8: New spells and magic items A new world spawns new magic - and sometimes, ancient magic can be found, too: This chapter provides you with new spells and items specifically adapted to the challenges in Ashandri, or intertwined with its background.
  • Chapter 9: Introductory adventures The Orphans of Vinesnake Hill is an adventure for low-level characters that takes place in the village of Vinesnake in Delvaroth. The adventure provides you with maps, tokens and artwork to enhance your roleplaying experience.
