Red stone of the valley

The valley is a mesmerizing place. Deep in the Golden Sea, upstream of an important river called the Red river, it is not a real valley. Rather, it is a huge canyon created in the limestone plateau of the desert. The red valley is probably the deepest canyon on Boomal, and is around 30 rides long, for a width of around ten rides at its largest point. As it is highly dangerous, the bottom is not accessible, but from the top, many quarries have been developed. More than sixty quarries are ine use.
The quarry activities frofit well to the city of Aarden. In the red valley, they extract some high-quality stone. Living up to its name, it gives some brightly coloured stones: white, yellow, red, dark grey... We can see in Aarden, Lemiit, and many smaller cities around, a large number of buildings, temples, altars and palaces built with this nice stone, such as the House of the gods recently built in Aarden to the rebaari gods.
The job of working in a quarry is tough, but rewarding. Since most of the stone is extracted by hand and pickaxe, it necessitates a whole lot of manual labor. But relative of the high demand and high price, the whole sector flourishes and workers are paid well for their labor. The demand of workforce is high in this growing industry.
