Dormatl (/dɜ:mæt/), Do'mat in Interplanar Common

This largely ocean planet has a few rocky volcanic islands, and some floating islands scattered around its surface.

Geography

Largely oceanic, with many islands scattered across it's surface. Some are volcanic. Most settlements are arranged on the non-volcanic islands, with many waterways and some bridges built between different islands. The Doratelli often get around on boat, but they are good swimmers out of necessity.

Fauna & Flora

There are many marine animals in this climate as well as bamboo-like trees growing everywhere. There are not many aviary creatures - which may seem odd to the outside observer considering they would likely thrive in the area - because many of them died off during the Great Starvation of 304, but there are five or so resilient species that the Doratelli view with great respect. Though they have received offers of new bird species to populate their world with, the Doratelli are hesitant to introduce new birds into their climate for fear of endangering their native birds. Native plants include the gura, tundle, and shirwen, which are popular with the Doratelli but not as much with outsiders, as well as many other fruits and vegetables.

Natural Resources

The most popular exports from Dormatl are fish and lumber: most popular fish: the gum /d͡ʒum/- a rather ugly-looking, maroon fish that, when cooked, has a flaky and savory taste that melts in your mouth the ermi /ɜ:mi/ - a small, green and yellow fish that is eaten raw for it's nutrients and smooth finish most popular lumber: tlea /tɜə/ - a hardy, fast-growing wood that is a bit like bamboo but much bigger petl /pɜt/ - a slower growing wood, but has a beautiful natural gloss ((again, I've got recordings of how to say it but no clue how to put it in here))

While storms are quite common, they are not usually serious - surprisingly mild save for when a volcano erupts. Generally, the air is thick with moisture, but it is not humid.
