The Storytellers Rest

A tavern drenched in lore, The Storytellers Rest is known throughout lornia for its origins within Blackpool's foundation.   Originally owned by a tiefling woman named Cephri, her legacy is honoured in the taverns extensive list of drinks, and even more impressive list of books, which she designed and hand picked repsectively.   Established in the newly founded blackpool in 10426, once a small port set up to give Lornia access to the eastern world, the Storytellers Rest has attracted sailors and travelers yearning for a tankard. As the city grew, the tavern continued to expand, adding more layers and eventually a small library section due to the young Blackpool's lack of an archive.   As time went on the popularity of the tavern exploded, and despite competition popping up within other corners of the city The Storyteller's Rest remained the premier spot for a drink and a chat.   The Storytellers Rest achieved it's name through the fact that along with being an excellent barkeep, Cephri was a legendary bard who studied the tales and history of Bolkaia extensively. She would tell encapsulating stories about her travels and Bolkaia's historical figures to weary adventurers, and ended up having every patron wrapped with her stories by the end of the night.   Currently the tavern is owned by Ceciel, Cephri's tiefling daughter. Although Cephri didn't take up Bardism like her mother, she did continue the storyteller legacy and has maintained the library exactly how Cephri would have. Every second night the tavern is once again wrapped within Ceciels tales, somehow coming up with a new one every single time.   The staff of The Storyteller's Rest are just as eccentric as the owner herself, being hand picked by Ceciel for the unique way they blend with Blackpool's art and culture.   Adventurers far and wide pass through The Storytellers Rest, it has become the shining gem of Blackpool, and unites the demographics of the city over a pint of ale and a good story.

Architecture

The Storyteller's Rest's architecture is chaos incarnate, the layers of the tavern are much like the layers in rocks, reflecting the history of Blackpool through its construction. However chaotic the building may present, the design was meticulously planned, and every detail within the building has a story.   The lower layer of the building is arguably the least interesting architecturally, it appears as a study stone and wood base, with the wood frequently having to be repaired due to the salty spray rotting it over time.   The middle layer of the tavern reflects a more prosperous era in Blackpool's history, and the detailed wooden columns supporting the top layer are engraved with tales told by those who put the tavern together. Modified Necromantic magic has been used to maintain the middle layer, preventing it from rotting to preserve the intricate designs encrusted within.   The highest layer of the tavern is tiled in bright red tiles, with a streak of black which runs through the peak of the roof. The roof is recognisable throughout the entire city, and stands proud amongst the rather mundane surrounding buildings.
