Dominique is an outlaw to the magic Covens created by Emperor Belos in an attempt to stamp out wild magic. Now, they work on the Roseberg Homestead under the Roseberg Family Farm. Not much is known about their past, save for them growing up on the Boiling Isles near Hexside School of Magic and Demonics and meeting their future spouse, Tiordan Roseberg, while working for the Emperor's Coven.

They always want to scare away your solitude. They build up your fear until you surrender to their cause. I simply call it a form of manipulation to control the weak. That's why I got out. I saw behind the mask our dear, beloved Emperor calls the Covens. He is a farse. A disease upon the Boilin' Isles. A rotten plaque that claims the Titan only speaks to him. Dominique the Hood

For many years, Dominique has been working to prove their loyalty to wild magic since they discovered the truth about Emperor Belos. Most of their past has been kept secret from their family, and even friends they have made. There is even a mark on the inside of their right wrist that is said to be an acid burn, but their family suspects that it was a coven mark.
Ever since Dominique started sneaking off from the Roseberg Homestead, they came back with tons of palismans for the farm to take care of until they find proper owners to care for them. It is unknown how they get the palismans, yet the Roseberg family doesn't press for answers. Any palisman in need of a home is allowed to stay.

Appearance

Dominique has a slender body riddled with scars that cover perwinkle-colored skin. Their sea green lips stand out against their skin color and match their eccentric hair color, which gives them the appearance of a crazy hooligan witch. They keep their weapons close to their side at all times, and is usually seen playing with one of their daggers that match the color of their sleeveless military jacket - a dark grayish-green. Underneath the jacket is a shirt with pink and blue colors that also match their hair color.

Personality and Abilities

Dominique can be seen as a loving and caring auntie to their nieces, while always teasing their loving little brother. They are a protective person. From their youth, they always carried a sense of duty, wanting to see the innocence of people protected while taking down the forces of evil around them. This can have them described as a warm-hearted, dorky, and playful.
Underneath that protective side is a nobinary woman with a heart for pranks and jokes. Anytime they can, Dominique will pull a prank to get the children around Bonesborough to smile while Dominique takes action against the Emperor's Coven. They don't leave behind any dead bodies, but they do cause enough damage to render a few of the Emperor's Coven members with injuries.
With their powerful wild magic, they can cause ample explosions, curse enemies, and even summon various forms of nature. This happens to be the reason Dominique goes out of their way to viciously defeat their opponents while not killing anyone.

History

Dominique grew up in Bonesborough with their younger brother and grandparents. They secretly studied wild magic as they believed it had the potential to help those when in mortal danger. Dominique cultivated their magic until they became one of the most powerful students at Hexside. Around the time they were supposed to pick a coven, Dominique caught the eye of the Emperor's Coven. From there, Dominique decided to start working with the coven as they would still be able to access all forms of their magic.
For five years, Dominique worked with the Emperor's Coven until she met Tiordan Jungle. He was just a drifter from a different country in the demon realm, where wild magic is normalized. Upon learning that he was free of a coven from his country, Dominique knew they had to bring him in, but they quickly decided against it. They spoke to Tiordan about his journeys and what wild magic meant to him. The more they learned, the faster they started to realize that the laws the Emperor created were unjust. They could not believe that the Emperor manipulated and tricked everyone into thinking that wild magic was a sin and that not joining a coven was seen as balsphemy. And Dominique also could not believe that they turned a blind eye while their emperor petrified anyone who refused to conform to his laws.
While they kept their mouth shut, Dominique began studying things with a closer eye. It wasn't long before she caught sight of the emperor eating the magic from palismans, killing them for his own gain. By now, Dominique had seen enough. In the dead of night, they snuck into the palisman reserves and grabbed up as many of the palismans as they could before breaking out and making a run for it. Dominique then burned off their coven mark with acid and placed up a magical barrier around the Roseberg Family Farm's territory to keep any unwanted visitors from finding them.
Then, by the year 2008, Dominique got troubling news - their beloved Tiordan had been captured by the Emperor's Coven and was to face the trial of petrification unless submitting to a coven. Dominique raced to his rescue, but was unable to make it in time. Instead, they were forced to watch the one they loved die by petrification. Ever since, Dominique has made a vow to end the Emperor's reign of terror over the people.

Conclusion

With all that was going on in their life, Dominique still refuses to tell their family the truth of their history, referring to their past as "not that important." The only person that has an inkling of what Dominique does while they are out finding palismans is their niece, Callista. Yet, while Callista knows how the palismans are getting to the homestead, she does not know why her auntie does this. The only people to know the full truth of the matter is Dominique and their deceased lover.
