Draeklyr Ethnicity in Blood of The Ly'eath | World Anvil

Draeklyr (Dray-clear)

As told by Nal'Draken

So now you want to now about the Draeklyr. Alright I'll tell you, it's kinda a sad thing honestly. Everybody wants their Illirium Steel and nobody wants to look at them for the people that they are.
Anyway, the Draeklyr are much like the other Elves in the Cardinal Realms, they long ears, nice faces, wonderful eyeballs. They are an excellent supply for Essence . . . Forget that last part.
But the one thing that the Draeklyr are most notible for is their what seems to be endless supply for Illirium Steel weaponry.   In my times that I spent with the Draeklyr I didn't really see much of their culture only that they were broken. Once I had thought them to be power hungry pirates, but they ended up being lowly slaves to what was our lust for their minerals. One of the most notable of these Draeklyr is Vladmir Maliar, a ruthless cutthroat that is the cause for most of the depression in Zydra. We'll talk about him in another article, he's a mean one.   Some of the basic customary rituals that the Draeklyr showed me was, taking your boots off in front of the door, saying a blessing over the food you were about to eat, care for each other and not harm them, don't drain the people you see of their Essence because they looked so tastey. . . Forget that last one again.

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

The Draeklyr share one thing in common, unity. Each piece of Khro, currency in Zydra, went to a family that didn't manage to get their own works finished up and sold. When I was first arrived in Zydra and found the first settlement that I came across, Abygia, this was what the first Draeklyr I met said.
Welcome stranger, you look like an outcast like us. Why don't you come in here so we can feed you and make sure you're not hurt. Our healers may not be much, but they are certainly better than most give them credit for. Come on aboard the raft.
