Manuhast's Seedlings

Never again will they grow,
nor be cultivated to be sown.
Botaria's Tree is grand and alone,
for the origin of its kin
is only to Manuhast known.
Find the Seedling and discover
why the might of a god
is not something to act light over.

Summary

One of the main differences between the Botanical and the Musical pantheon is their approach to relics and containers of divine might. The Musical Divines all have their own instrument that holds their power and allows them to change the world. The Botanical Deities take a more abstract approach with geographic locations that hold their power. Lifeforms that pass through are filled with the ideals of these Deities and the area represents the Deities.   Religious stories and ancient texts about the Stansequoia, the first creation of Botaria differ from these assumptions. They tell about the state of the Stansequoia when it was created, a seed the size of a melon. It is told that, when Botaria was still known as Manuhast, He created this seed amongst 4 others to be used and arranged as musical notes in a composition of Orchast.
After Orchast and Manuhast broke their peace and the Warring Era began, Manuhast supposedly reclaimed the Seedlings and tried to make each one grow on its own. So far, the Stansequoia is the only Seedling that grew into its adult state. But before any other Seedling was planted, the Warring Era truly broke out and Botaria had to defend his Tree. In the many years that the war lasted, Botaria supposedly lost each seedling across many different locations in Blomaria, until none remained. After the Warring Era, Botaria and all the other gods in the world retreated from the mortal coil and since then, the Seedlings were lost to time.
It is prophesized that a lifeform who opens a Seedling would gain the power of a Deity.

Historical Basis

The myth about the seed of the Stansequoia has existed for a very long time, since the idea of a world tree's humble beginnings speak to the minds of zealots. But only a few centuries ago, when the Second Warring Era ended with the interference of both pantheons, scholars received clues that the stories about the Seedlings might very well be true.   Many people have tried to find the Seedlings and use them for their own gain. Many of them have failed. Some have succeeded.   In the year 6728, an elven adventurer named Iliphine Ardreth found a Seedling inside a ruined Grovarian temple. Instead of merely opening or planting the Seedling, she ate it. All the divine energy inside the Seedling flew into her, and this was the catalyst for the events that would create the continent of Ardenan.   This event convinced the world of Blomaria that the Seedlings existed, and since then the world has been frantically looking for the other three that remain, eager to find out the dormant power.

I love the names of your places! Also, the historical basis behind this myth is really interesting!

Check out Natural Magic : a coming of age fantasy novel, because life is hard enough when you're fourteen, even without saving the world. Or listen to it in podcast form .
