Last Journal of Caihnmer

Caihnmer was a founder of the Adventurers' Guild and was well known for taking quests that would send him to distant places. Known to be solitary except for rumors after his presumed death that implied he yet lived deep in the labyrinth with a former counter girl, an advisor for adventurers. Many years after the last supposed sighting of them a thick journal was found. Inside it was filled with notes, drawings and detailed maps. Most of which was in Caihnmer's well-known deliberate hand. One section was written in terse shorthand which turned out to be a private journal of Caihnmer and Ashlynn's life. There were entries about his disappointment that he was unable to prevent her infatuation and felt a responsibility for it he didn't want. In another entry, he expressed sadness that Ashlynn, like everyone else, would have short lives. Later he writes about the decision that her brief life shouldn't be wasted on heartache so he'd allow her to live her infatuation even though those consequences would far outlive her. After this time in the journal, another handwriting appears in places throughout the book which matches Ashlynn's writing in Guild records.   In total, the Journal covers thirty years of adventuring in a highly abridged format. Other than Caihnmer's infrequent mentions of Ashlynn, the remainder is a persistent, scientific record of his, and her, travel into the deep labyrinth. Several within the Guild have suggested there must be more Journals. The one that was found was left to be found, and the mentions of the missing Ashlynn and clear samples of her handwriting are only in it to remove the mystery of her disappearance. It has been added to the Guild omnibus where even a hundred years later no explorer has contributed as much to the categorizing and mapping of Ruathawaul.
