Chief Expositionary Cerinee Va Baschet (a.k.a. Ceri)
Despite being fully atheist, she still celebrates Easthire, a Horin spring festival celebrating new life to make Oat happy.
Physical Description
Cerinee is lean and tall, with slightly broadened shoulders and a muscular build. Cerinee constantly keeps herself fit by training regularly, and is quite agile. She suffers from no disabilities or illnesses, but can get aches on her left hip when she overexerts herself.
Cerinee is often described as lanky or long limbed by many, and rocks a considerable amount of scars on her torso and arms. Her skin maintains a natural tan from her time in the daylight, and her hair has become slightly sun-bleached.
Cerinee has a peculiar eyebrow scar on her right eye, which to this day, no one knows the origin of. Oat believes she was hit on the head and received the scar, but was hit so hard she forgot. Also, Cerinee's freckles instead of being dark spots, stand out like white sprinkles on her face.
Cerinee's naturally white ice-tipped hair often made her stick out like a sore thumb, but her most noticeable feature are her pointy elf ears. Her ears are slightly larger and pointier than the average elf, and they also have multiple tears. She received most of these injuries from her ear-jewelry being forcefully pulled out during battle. This, surprisingly, hasn't deafened her.
Cerinee's hands are often way too cold despite constantly using them, her ears are slightly asymmetrical, regularly chews on her hair, and often fidgets.
Being a bard Cerinee is able to inspire, heal, and strengthen her friends with all sorts of spells, and even dreams of creating her own famous incantations. And of course, she can do plenty of harmful spells.
Cerinee wears only tactical clothing or bard robes over them. Cerinee has a large distaste for skirts and dresses, and will only settle for a bards tunic. And she feels much more comfortable wearing form fitting movable clothing. After retaining multiple eat injuries, she has sworn off wearing any jewelry.
Cerinee has been constantly changing and reworking her bone instruments for years, and currently owns a plethora of flutes, horns, and a mandolin which, miraculously, works.
Mental characteristics
Cerinee grew up in a reserved countryside village, Twine, a quiet and humble farmer town. Growing up with a fascination with nature and music, her lifelong dream was to move to White Lotus City and to become a famous musician. Having no one to teach her how to play, and no instruments to play at all, she made her own bizarre sound-making creations out of animal bones and wood. She was no rhythm genius, but her dedication sculpted her into a master of her craft.
Eventually, her parents began to see her passion for the arts, and at sixteen years old they sent her off to go live in the city. Soon she heard of Guild Lyre and decided to join, seeking a home and like-minded musicians to befriend.
Cerinee became a hit within the guild , highly respected and admired for her talent and wit. But the short expeditions and mild hikes weren't enough to quell her adventurers spirit, and waving goodbye to her new family she set off towards the Moris Kingdom. She had heard rumors of dangerous uncharted forests, filled with unknown critters and flora, and was ecstatic to discover new creatures.
Cerinee currently resides in the WillWood Forest in a small villa with her boyfriend Oat, always hoping to broaden her horizons.
Cerinee always leaned onto dressing and acting more masculine, seeing as she grew up in a mostly male village, But she was still fully comfortable with identifying as a female and goes by She/Her.
Cerinee at first believed she was a lesbian after having a massive crush on the guild leader Lydia but soon after, she fell in love with her questing partner and now boyfriend Oat. She now labels herself as a bisexual.
Cerinee was an intelligent girl, but got nothing more than an average education. Much more artistically and street smart compared t book smart.
When Cerinee joined Guild Lyre she stated out as a basic entertainer and resource scout for the guild, but climbed the ranks quickly and formed her own expedition group.
Cerinee is a proud explorer and was the first person to discover the
Mofflings, a species of simple minded bug-folk that lived in the used to be unexplored Moris Kingdom.
Cerinee also is the owner of multiple official and non-official musical awards given by her friends, family, and by multiple different guilds.
Not exactly a failure but during the naming of the uncharted valley inhibited by the
Moff, her negotiation skills were of no use to, and so it was dubbed "Shroomie Valley." Personally Cerinee sees this as both a failure and a success .
Cerinee doesn't suffer from any form of childhood, emotional, or intense physical trauma, but of course has seen brutal things, but that's a given as an hero.
Cerinee has near photographic memory, and can memorize symbols, patterns, and tunes practically perfectly. But despite her intense memorization skills, she completely hates reading and learning about religion and history.
Cerinee believes that everything that knows how to feel and emote diserves to be kept alive, and thinks that all people can redeem themselves no matter how terrible they are.
Some massive personal taboo for Cerinee is the consumption of meat, being incredibly religions, and disrespecting and/or hurting those unable to defend themselves.
Personality Characteristics
Cerinee's drive towards the unknown comes from her curious nature and her natural connection to nature. She wants to be a beacon of light and an inspiration to young musicians all around the world of blight, no matter what spcies.
As a bard, singing and entertaining are some of her many expertise. She knows how to juggle, dance, do acrobatics, teach, sing in a variety of pitches, and can crochet.
But Cerinee isn't all-knowing and has an incredibly hard time reading spells and runes. She also struggles to grasp complicated battle strategies and prefers to wing it.
She enjoys music, arts and crafts, nature, hiking, foraging, shooting, climbing, adventuring, small animals, and Oat
She dislikes, reading, studying, cooking, shopping, loud noises, the texture of velvet, warm humid environments, and potion-making.
Cerinee is a great public speaker who knows how to get people moving and always seems to be in a positive mood. But still knows how to speak out about anything that's bothering her, and can put easily put unruly newcomers in check.
Cerinee suffers from her "everyone is good" mentality often. A lot of people see her as an easy target to manipulate or exploit due to this. She also has a secret negative bias against demons due to her family's influence.
Cerinee is a very touchy person and often randomly grabs onto people or pokes them randomly for no apparent reason. She also uses her hands a lot to exaggerate her words when speaking.
Cerinee is usually well kept, but doesn't bother with grooming her hair or picking out a fancy outfit. From her perspective, she's gonna get messy no matter what she does, so there's no point in getting yourself to look all nice if its gonna be a waste.
Social
For two years Cerinee was the representative for the
Mofflings and managed most of their trade and alliances with other races. But soon the elected a village elder to take her place.
Cerinee still keeps in contact with the
Moff people, some of her best friends being
Moff's named Moss and
Sozkin.
Cerinee cut ties with most of her family due to their religious beliefs and how they view other races. The last time she talked with any of her family was an argument she had with her mother over her dating Oat.
Cerinee doesn't hate religious people, but finds people with intense faith to be incredibly insufferable if they insist on talking to her about their beliefs.
Cerinee is an Extrovert and is highly charasmatic, but at times can be seen as unruly or messy by those who are more reserved. Personally conforming to traditions and acting proper have always seemed tedious to her, so she often disregards staying neat unless she needs to. At times she can become a bit egotistical if her ego is properly stroked, but usually is down to earth.
Cerinee loves to imagine herself as a character within a play, she wants every movement and every word to contribute to her story and how people view her character. She loves acting out things she's describing vividly with her hands, and often uses different voices or impressions to retell her stories.
She owns a pet rabbit named "Spine Cruncher," this name was chosen by Oat.
Cerinee keeps a positive and light tone when she speaks, and has a slight elven accent that causes her to occasionally slur her words together if she speaks too fast. Her swears and curses are often mixes of random items or make zero sense. (Example: Calling someone a 'wooden sink.') Whenever greeting someone she'll often apt for a casual "Hey" or "What's up," rather than "Hello."
Cerinee is considered upper-middle class, but is nowhere near rich. She gained a very large sum of money from helping and founding most of the conservation efforts for endangered critters, but donated a large portion of it to help. She still does quests, but more for the experience and less for the money.
Anecdotes of Oat
First Meeting
Me and Ceri met in the Guild Lyre after taking the same quest at the same time. The hirer didn't mind the two of us working together, after all, we were just getting the guy some crystals. We hit it off pretty much instantly, and to be honest I don't think I've met anyone as
different as Ceri. And I mean that in a good way of course. After we finished the job she asked me to join her team, and I did!
Mofflings
The
Mofflings are great! Cerinee introduced me to them after she became the ambassador, and I was
basically her vice president. I'm honestly bewildered at how fast she learned to understand them because to me it sounds like random garbage. Funny story but the two of us got invited over to their village for some holiday, and I nearly died because of one of those dishes. I know they probably weren't trying to assassinate me, but I'm probably not going to visit any time soon.
Living Together
I was shocked when she sprang the question of living with her on me. I never thought I'd ever settle down with someone but hey, here I am. I thought she'd already have a house prepared but turns out we only had land. Neighter of us are particularly skilled at magic so building everything was tough. But now that everything been built, lives been nice.
Distaste For Religion
Cerinee gained her dislike of religion and religious practices from her parents. Specifically due to her father, who was the owner of the town's church, and was the only preacher. Her father was always very hard on the family to uphold the religion and traditions that came with it. Things like creating music were forbidden to women, which is why it took so long for her father to let her pursue her passion.

Church Of Iris
The church of Iris has been a problem for Cerinee and
Oat for both of their entire lives. From getting chased by insane acolytes to nearly being brainwashed into joining, the two of them have sworn off any involvement with this church, unless someone is in need.
Great use of the prompts to build out a fully realized character, and I really liked your names for things. The idea of a couple called Cerinee and Oat is really lovely, in particular.
