The inhabitants of Blest tend to think of their world as only one Continent, shown here. (Rivers, lakes, and some terrain features not included.) Thus, the landmass known as "Blest" and the world of Blest are spoken of synonymously. The area above the Torunn mountain range is known as "the North" or "the Frozen North" of Blest. It's a realm of skerries, fjords, and arctic plains, and the brutality of both the mountains and the difficulty of crossing the Skeleton Coast ensures that t's an isolated, lonely place. Below the Torunn lies Thielwood, an ancient and primeval forest that blankets an immense swathe of land. It was once thought to be the birthplace of civilization and was the heart of the vast cultural network spanning the Eastern Continent: many of the Ket, Elven, Mage, and Hunter city-states were housed here before the Castigation. Below Thielwood lies the Damba Plains, dry golden grasslands and savannahs that are home to small communities and nomads. The Plains stretch from the Shield Peaks to the Giant's Rib, encompassing Haven; they're considered one of the great roadways of the Continent. Below the Plains (running from the Blasted Heath to Carnbarad) are the Central Territories: cities that serve as the mercantile and trade centers of the land. These cities also tend to be places where all races inhabit the same place. The Central Territories are ripe with farmland, fertile fields, and busy trade routes. Below the Central Territories (spanning the peninsula including Sion, Conte, and Courtshore) lies a belt of lush and fertile land known as the Southern Crescent. The landscape here runs more tropical the further South you go, and the sunny weather makes for a very dense and populated territory. Moving West, the lands west of the Shield Peaks are known as the Norm territories or the frontier. These have been settled mostly by populations of intrepid Norm settlers, who have converted the hot, dusty prairies into viable land. Before the Castigation and the unification of the Autarchy, the Norm territories were roughly divided into four lands: two rival kingdoms (ruled by Kinley and Sorano), one sultanate near the desert, and a rough collective of outposts ruled by elected mayors. The Realm-of-Ghosts is a grey, misty land full of strange spirits and ghasts. Riddled with bogs and even mysterious mass graves, it is a land said to be on the very border of death. Beyond it lies the Waste, a blasted, bleak land that holds almost no green life or animals. Instead, it is inhabited by "demonkin" that have been driven out of all other civilized corners of the Continent: not Endarkened, but spawn or mutated offspring of them, or other dark, corrupted creatures banished for their foul natures. It is said that for every Blest race, a twisted counterpart for it lies somewhere in the Waste. Finally, the lands to the West of "the West" have not yet been discovered or explored.
