Larkmoore County Hospital

The quaint little hospital stood on a hillside overlooking the sea. It was a beautiful brick building with arched windows and it almost looked like a church. The staff were all very dedicated to their work and took great care of the patients within. The morale was usually pretty high amongst staff and patients as the areas were clean, grounds were beautiful, patients were given the best treatment as the staff was well treated. sometimes they would speak in hushed toned about the hospital in the next town over. Most of it was just gossip, but some of it was true.
One young nurse had left her position there and come to work at Larkmoore. She wouldn't speak of it often, and whenever the name "Slatefall" came up, she would suddenly look very distressed. She would excuse herself from whatever conversation she was in and walk away. Her coworkers thought it odd, but they paid it no mind after a while.
Life continued on at Larkmoore. On cold winter nights, the hospital staff would stoke the fires up in the common room and bring hot water bottles to all of the patients. Extra work was needed, so extra work it was. No one complained, and it was all alive with bustle and activity. The head nurse would bark her orders, but everyone knew that she was excited to get through the day's work and have their little Christmas celebration.
Christmas always brightened the patient's spirits, especially those that didn't have a good prognosis. The staff's Christmas parties helped them feel alive and celebrated and included their family where possible. It was as joyous as a place could be that was surrounded by sickness and death, and they kept up their spirits even through the first world war and the Spanish Flu epidemic.
