Universal Ranger
Ranger, in this usage, is not limited to the kind employed by civilizations to act as an intermediary, they are explorers, law-keepers, and basically universal J.A.G.
They are Judge, Jury, and Executioner where ever they go, no matter from whence they came. The only way to get a signet of recognition as one is to be tested by the most sound of mind existing Universal Rangers in Ethics, passing with a perfect score, and competence, passable score reliant on survival. The signet cannot be stolen, lost, copied, or otherwise faked or tampered with, and is recognized...you guessed it...universally! Throughout the World and many of the tears, no one denies the authority of the Universal Rangers. They are equal to the most honorable of paladins and knights.
Not even the unicorn Council likes to butt heads with these guys. The unicorns consider themselves absolute purity and above all judgment, but the Universal Rangers give them pause for thought. If there were more URs they might consider them rivals, but thanks to their rarity, it is less than a passing unanimous thought amongst the Herd. Most other sentient beings will show the URs equal, and sometimes greater, respect to the Universal Rangers as they do to the Herd.
