The Silent War of 4 BME

When the unicorns chose to commit and cover up their crimes wrought upon a lesser kingdom of their Creed alliance; very few heard of it, and fewer still believed what they heard. Most preferred the story the Council created over any insistence of the truth. If they were not burying their heads in the sand, they were actively aiding in the cover-up by spreading the falsehood and punishing and silencing the truth. These are the deeds of the peoples and territories surrounding the "newly fallen little kingdom who's name is not to be spoken by anyone ever, lest it stirs up and triggers the lies again." This is what the last four years to date have been like.
Fortunately, they couldn't catch everyone who fled that kingdom and knew what happened for real. They cannot stop the truth from spreading outside their influence, no matter how many they oppress to do it. The news traveled by methods and reports unsolicited by the forces that seek to silence them. Red are the rivers that run from those who refuse the hard pill to swallow, as vengeance is promised by the ones that know and tell others the truth...believed or not. These secret groups use untraceable marks, and hidden in plain sight symbols to help identify them as the free network, and work with others who expose more crimes hidden by those who would pretend perfection and innocence while damning the objective facts and genuine truths, bending the people to their will. Their goal is a free-thinking people of the World, educated enough to make up their own minds without the clouding of lies to destabilize their personal independent judgments.
Between these two forces are the peoples unaware and their minds, hearts, spirits, bodies, and social connections hanging in the balance. Without the direct experience of the incident in the year 4 BME many cannot be swayed to comment on either side, insisting it has nothing to do with them, as neighbors and family, loved ones and friends are disappeared and turned in around them with alarming speed, never to be seen again. Easily intimidated by the forceful few and often confused into preforming cruel acts and even violence on each other in mass, the middling many may find themselves full of regret for the way they've turned their eyes to complicity when the prophecy of the Black Snow grows less and less ignorable. They'll surely be seeking compassion in the early days of change when the sharp other hoof falls on them more directly and with increasing unavoidability. No one on the side of silence remembers the allies they once had in the face of the same fear still shared. A coward's rest is not marked by any mourning stone.

Outcome

Several factions of Unicorn regions have defected from the Council and insist on living quietly as they did before the unification of the herds into the Herd.
Peoples who relied on those factions are without the usual supplies and look to other means of obtainment.
The Creed of Unity has noticed an increase in populations trying to find a way free of the contract.
Unicorn Slayers as an occupation are on the rise once again.

Aftermath

The Council will not be able to enforce the Creed without enough support from others, and will eventually crumble under the weight of its own hubris.

Historical Significance

When the first fall of Black Snow was covered up in 4 BME by the council, those who held prophecy dearer than politics decided that the council was corrupt, and the desecration they preformed on an allied small kingdom as a cover-up was an irrefutable indication that the Council had indeed fallen, leaving only its corpse to rise and walk the World.

Legacy

Peoples the world over will no longer be enslaved by the unicorns or the Unicorn Council after the council falls to ruin. No one will want to go back except for the pockets of fanatics and zealots who refuse to break the creed in the first place. Mostly military states and communist holdings beholden to the Creed that would suffer a serious backlash from the rest of the world if they ended their contracts.

In Literature

All literature of this subject is swiftly removed and labeled "harmful to those who encounter it" by the Council and Creed holding allies. Anyone caught making it is silenced and banned to the shadows of memory.
