Writing in "magic ink" to hide the true message in massifs so that the educated can communicate with each other openly and freely without drawing unwanted attention about things authorities would greatly prefer to bury and remain buried. However, the group that uses this technique believes strongly in recording the real truths objectively and with actual facts for the use of peoples in the future. They hope that one day the status quo will shatter, and life can begin again, as they view the current times as a time of stagnation.
The unicorns claim the Modern Era declaration was the idea of the council, however, the educated know that they are the ones who planted the earworm that the unicorns would gladly jump at as the opportunity for a major World distraction to cover up their cover-ups would be too good to pass up.
The educated group is not really a society or a secret or even always getting along with each other, but they have a common goal and interest. They're just well-educated individuals with no allegiances. No one really pays them any mind, since there are so many juicier societies, secret societies, well known secret societies, and groups of obvious power to join instead. Basically the common folk just laugh at these individuals and prefer the information they get from more "powerful" charismatic groups. None of these folk would even consider owning a black light outside of a party favor, and most of these groups are so confident in their machinations that the idea of hiding anything they do with so many masses willing to just agree with everything they say. They tend toward a simple container with a lock, and when they wish to hide that they lock it in a vault, believing in the power of belief and disbelief to protect their interests.
