Adventuring License

An Adventuring License permits a person to...basically loot, kill, and destroy, within' parameters as is required for the job to be a success. Excessive destruction of say, a holy temple previously lost to the ages, would result in a suspension of the license. Killing people, like villagers, random people, the subject of rescue, and so on, would result in legal action taken, and having the license permanently revoked. Robing anyplace not a designated zone for such activities would result in legal prosecution and having the license either suspended or revoked, depending on the level of crime and restitution payment.   Most large cities and kingdoms recognize this license, but there are more outlying locations willing to let people adventure without them. However, penalties for practicing in recognized designated zones without a license can result in severe penalization; not just because of the risk of damages, but because it rouses the people into a panic. People with immense power, doing whatever they please wherever they please, under the guise of helping others, with no proof whatsoever can often be seen as "shady" at best. When someone goes in without a license and actually helps with minimal risk to the World and the public, they are usually quite forcibly encouraged to get an Adventuring License.   The process of acquiring an Adventuring License is simple enough that anyone can get one if they apply. Tests can be taken to achieve ranks without actually going adventuring, but special honors and recognition are given to those who actually do the work. An adventurer can only rank so high through testing, so without actually proving oneself on the field it would be very difficult to recieve any form of respect through the rank listed on the license alone.
