Trade Company of Tahak
The Trade Company of Tahak is a company of merchants currently established as a sovereign country in the eastern shore of Frasfu's main continent. Even though they are the smallest country in terms of geographical size, their merchants can be found everywhere in the world, which makes them very influential.
History
Tahak's history starts with the Kutarinmaa's invasion of most of the Eastern coast of the continent. The Empire Kutarinmaa started its military campaign with the Kingdom of Tagria, which didn't have the strength to fight off the invaders. Tagria was aware of its military weakness and decided to negotiate with the Empire. They would give Kutarinmaa their northern province, Tahak, in exchange for peace. Kutarinmaa accepted and Tahak became part of Kutarinmaa. During the years of the Empire, the province of Tahak flourished as a very important trade spot. The Tahak name quickly became a mark of high quality and merchant honesty. This gave Tahak's citizens a strong sense of national identity, but due to their lack of independent military resources, there wasn't much they could do about it. However, when Kutarinmaa started losing territories (starting with Inkiarniqekia, now established as a diarchy), Tahak saw its opportunity. The most influential merchants met with Kutarinmaa's leaders and offered them a deal. For two decades, the money surplus for all deals made by a Tahak merchant anywhere in the world would go directly to Kutarinmaa's treasury in order to fund their military campaign. In exchange, Kutarinmaa would let Tahak become an independent country. After long negotiations, Kutarinmaa accepted the deal in a desperate attempt to safeguard its rule over the various territories. The deal ended up not being effective for the Empire, but Tahak became a sovereign country.
