SC19: Week 2 journal

Second week is done! And... flying fish, that was a busy week! Real life kept me real busy, and so I haven't managed to achieve my goal of catching up to 14 prompts —I have answered 10 of them. It's not a big deal, though, and I'm not letting this discourage me! One of my resolutions before starting Summer Camp was that I wouldn't feel bad if I didn't complete all the prompts, and I'm living up to it, for now! Although, I wouldn't complain if I managed to write all 30 prompts, of course...
This week I wrote my first ever SciFi-ish articles, with the Star synchronisation system, Bright Black and Spaceboat. Some weeks before Summer Camp started I decided I wanted to turn this world from urban fantasy to Science Fantasy, a genre with themes that I had never considered before. Writing these three articles meant thinking about worldbuilding in a way I had never done before, including research about unfamiliar topics.
I'm very happy about the Dictionary of Minling expressions and idioms; writing about how people use a language is one of my favourite parts of worldbuilding, and I enjoyed so much coming up with these expressions and the history behind them. The most challenging entry this week was Sky Wars; writing about wars or battles is always tough for me, but I think I managed to write something decent, at least!
During these two weeks I've realised that many of the articles I'm writing need expanding and illustrations. Unfortunately, I don't have time for more, but I'm keeping track of all articles using the tag #sc19 (as well as in the It's Summer Camp! page) and I will probably go through them all next month to make sure they are consistent with each other and maybe create some art for them!
Anyway, this next week will be another difficult one. The second half of the week my worldbuilding activity will drop to 0, as I will be spending some time with my friends (who also happen to be my dnd group!), and during the first half I'll have to prepare for the session I'm running for them. I'll try to write something during this first half, but of course friends come first!
