Chaining, Knatän

The game is called chaining, "knatän" from the word Knatt, chain and the ending -än, meaning system or way of doing things, something like chaining or chainology.
The game is simple, one thinks of a word where part of the word could mean something else, an English equivalent would be Paint, where Pain is also a word.
Then, that particular part is substituted by a related word, for example, pain-pleasure. The resulting word is then pleasuret.
The rest have to guess which was the original word, in this case, Paint.
It is played in group, and the one who guesses correctly is next. The game stops when nobody can guess the word. There is no formal price but people can use it to settle conflicts or bets.
Anyone can answer and the combinations can be as silly as one can think of. Also, the rules are not that strict, the substituted word does not have to be an exact word, can feel like another word or sound like it, especially if the recombinations feel right and can lead to a good guess, that is, if the newly created word does lead to people in guessing the original word, almost anything is valid even if the premise is to substitute that part that could mean something else by a related word.
Also, relativeness can be quite ambiguous, so fights can arise when the picked word is related only by the person who thought of it, and not the rest.
The players who are the best can be very inventive and clever when picking the words and creating new ones that make sense, are difficult, but not impossible and when explained makes a lot of sense, it was just very clever.
