The Crystal Edge
In the furthest edge of the Ethereal Realms, at what some call "The Edge of Existence" there exists a barrier of some crystalline material that extends seemingly in all directions without curving. The barrier is immune to all magics and radiates a near blinding aura of Abjuration Magic. The crystal is translucent with a smoky quality, with large dark shapes occasionally distinguishable through it.
Geography
The Crystal Edge has no perceptible curve, or edge and can be approached from every conceivable direction but extends infinitely in every direction once located. The Crystal is translucent and smoky grey in color. The surface is frictionless, and perfectly smooth.
Ecosystem
The strange denizens of The Ethereal Plane avoid venturing near The Crystal Edge for the most part and will avoid direct contact with the wall if at all possible. Nothing grows on the structure, and any debris blown into the wall simply reverses course the instant it contacts the smoky surface.
Localized Phenomena
Occasionally large, dark shapes can been seen slowly drifting by on the mysterious other side of The Crystal Edge as if blocking out some distant light source. Even more rarely, a flash of intense blue light splashes against the other side of the wall lighting everything in a cobalt glow before dissipating.
History
Scholars and Researchers know very little about the origins on The Crystal Edge. Arcanists and divination specialists have been continually thwarted in any scrying or lore magics used to divine the nature of The Crystal Edge, likely a part of the intense magical protections incorporated into the structure.
Tourism
Many scholars and researchers of the arcane come to study and watch The Crystal Edge. Adventurers and Ethereal travelers will often come to the wall in attempts to find some way to pass it and discover the mysteries that lay beyond. So far there has been no method or path discovered to cross the barrier.
