Nauvai qī Ītau

The stranger walked up to the elderly woman, working dutifully at her loom.   "Nauvai, vīshti. I am Spriyoŗ u Apeki, from the western coast. I am told you are one to speak to regarding the acquisition aikital."   "I am but a simple weaver. You may buy my rugs."   "Then perhaps you would help a misinformed businessman learn to whom I should speak?"   "Ŗair." Child. The woman subtly placed the thumb and middle finger of her right hand together, looking out the store as if something had caught her eye. "You know not what you ask."   "My apologies," the stranger said, as he left the cramped stall.   Another man, a Kaukalaik guard, took his arm as a second guard gestured to a route away from the stall. "Please, come with us, kīr," he said, in vaguely threatening tones, as they lead the confused lookng stranger away.
Nauvai qī Ītau is a simply dressed, unassuming elderly woman. Age lines her face and she looks as if she may break at any moment. Yet she can often be found in her permanent stall at the Kaukalaik, either working her loom or hagling on the price of one of her beautiful rugs. What few know is that she operates the largest textile organization in all of Rotai, ensuring that obligations on production of aikital are met for Īyonī and that the best prices are made for pants sold in Tinashal.   The organization has no offical name, as it is simply an extension of Nauvai's humble rug stall, but is often referred to as the Rotai Cabal. Much of the business is done at her stall, with trusted lieutenants and supervisors stopping by through the day to inform her as to the status of various operations. She never takes notes and rarely raises her voice. Yet she knows almost everything about every aspect of her empire.   As a point of pride, all production of the highly specialized aikital cloth is personally overseen and quality controlled by Nauvai. She would take it as a great blow to her personally if any of the material was anything less than perfect.

Mental characteristics

Intellectual Characteristics

Nauvai knows everything there is to know about textiles. She keeps no business records, yet can recall specifics about any current or planned operation and almost all past operations of her organization. She can outmaneuver a person in two minutes of conversation and is always looking for what's best for her people and her operation.

Morality & Philosophy

People should always be treated with honor and respect. If someone doesn't treat her with the same, they are taken away and not allowed to speak with her again. If someone fails to treat one of the hundreds (thousands?) of people in her employ with a sufficient respect, they will be taught the meaning of respect.   Nauval's dedication to those who work for her is reflected in their respect for her. Anyone who knows her will do almost anything for her.

Social

Social Aptitude

Quiet charisma.   She often seems to be a quiet grandmother, that everyone knows must be obeyed or there will be hell to pay.   She always follows the etiquette of whatever culture is appropriate to the situation, to the point of knowing subtle differences between similar cultures. This seems to be a natural knack, as she fits in even in places or with people she has never dealt with before, always fitting the role of honored grandmother.

Wealth & Financial state

Presumably very wealthy, but no one knows.
