The Dwarf walked in, everyone knew what to expect, he would be heavily armored, heavily bearded, armed with an Axe or a Hammer, and be dour and focused.
This Dwarf was smiling, his beard a trim thing only four inches long, black leather armor sheathed his trim body, and a short sword sat on his left hip. The Gnomes looked at him quizzically. He was not what they expected.

Personal history
Spent fifty years in the home forge, growing to love rocks, learning to be respectful of others, keeping his emotions in check.
Then the Mine collapsed, a quake collapsed the mine and the forge.
it took three months of crawling and digging to get out, it drove him mad. His upbringing did not teach him to deal with the trauma.
So he rejected Dwarf kind, he developed claustrophobia, he would laugh and show his emotions, and he learned to steal.
By the time he was 70 he was living in Parrissia and doing work as a Tinker for the Storm Brand, then he met Esmeralda. The two married and V introduced his bride to the Storm Brand, who had recently found reason to doubt their former manager (Philocretes), Esma became the new manager almost immediately.
When the Storm Brand went missing V and E traveled through Northern Bretony attempting to find their friends when they got taken by the anomally.
The Storm Brand were taken, a week later an Imperial Legion was sent to investigate, they went missing and so both the Tinker's Guild and Varence and Esmeralda entered Bretony to find out what was happening.
