Headquarters of the Colony

Created by Martin Ludwell, edited by Smidgen
The canvas of the walls draw attention to the fact that the Command Building used to be a tent, but wooden planks and sandbags have reinforced the walls, and the wood of the Ceiling and Roof show the future of the building. Armenius still liked planning sessions with his command team to be held in this main room, and not in any of the offices now attached to it. Favonius came in with his usual smile and called everyone to the table, "Commander, the Farmers have been assigned building projects, the artisans are working to get some more tools for the camp, the Bards have a primitive entertainment and education system going. As you would know, the Priests of the Circle are attempting communion, but the Circle seems reluctant, or too far away,". "Very good, Fav, any word from the Adventurers?" "There are a number of new creatures encountered, and ruins are showing up quite regularly. Spells seem to indicate that the world was abandoned or wiped out over a thousand years ago, which makes that town seen on the coast Unique,". "Excellent work, pass my congratulations on to the correct people, assign the Storm Brands to check those coastal ruins,".

Purpose / Function

to house the command section while they work

Design

Looking like a 19th century office without windows, the walls are lined with books, there is a small altar to the circle in one corner, and a single bed next to that. The room is dominated by the oak desk in the center of the room, with a large leather chair behind it and five smaller straight backed wooden chairs in front. The room is warmed by the fireplace on the right hand wall.

Entries

Knocking on a brassplate next to the canvas flap that is inside the main hall of the Headquaters building creates a wooden door, opening this allows entrance to the Governor's Quarters. when the governor wants privacy he merely knocks twice on the inside of the door as he closes it. It can also be locked by the governor by him placing his palm on it ans saying lock.

Alterations

it has gone from a tent to having wood making a ceiling and roof. the walls are reinforced with wood, sand bags and wattle and daub.

Architecture

make shift, canvas and wood make the walls, the ceiling and roof are wooden planks. The Governor's Office is actually an extra dimensional space accessed through interacting with the knocking plate on the outside of the doorway to the room. This office is 20x20x10 foot with a pinewood floor and apparently plastered walls and ceiling with a "continual light" in the middle of the ceiling. each of the other officers have a similar but smaller space, theirs being 10x10x10 cube with Pinewood floor and plastered ceilings and walls.

History

begun on the day the portal opened, it was the second structure built in the colony, the first being the walls of the encampment.
