Dwarven is uniform throughout the Dwarf Holds, and this is because they all form a single nation under the Lowest King, whose mines touch the Underdark. Many Speak Millessian, a smaller proportion speak Undercommon.

Culture and cultural heritage

The Family is most important, then the Clan, then Dwarfs in general, then alliances. this has been beaten into them by the many broken promises from the other races.

I can do it the best. this phrase sums up the Dwarven attitude. They expect to be disappointed by others, and are often correct. they still attempt trust but find it difficult.

century 21st type of metallurgy and crystal manipulation. portable lasers have been rumored but not proven.

Common Etiquette rules

You do not touch anothers tools without permission, one does not critique another's work unless invited to, anything made by a Dwarf will be more enduring than anything made by another race.

Common Dress code

every one wears Kilts, male female child adult. upper body is usually covered, heavy boots are also usual.

sculpture and engraving are the main art works of the people, though they also enjoy talented etching. architecture emphasizes control of the material and pleasing lines are usual, though they use robust building methods and have a tendency of use over structure.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

It is common that a nickname will be appended to a Dwarf's name, and this becomes their name, if it is a compliment. they will fight to get a derogatory name expunged, to the death if necessary.

Birth & Baptismal Rites

a newborn is placed on cold stone and then an anvil in the Clan Forge, to introduce them to the world.

Coming of Age Rites

marriage is only possible AFTER the individual has crafted an acceptable item of enduring use. This marks them as coming of age, no matter what their physical age is

Funerary and Memorial customs

bodies are burned on the Clan Forge, often the very forge the deceased made their coming of age item on.

Common Taboos

betrayal is Taboo. Betray the Clan and you will no longer be a part of the Clan, and you will be dead.

Common Myths and Legends

Their most enduring legend is of a Dwarf named God Love, who was responsible for stopping an invasion of Trolls and Ogres by entering the Underdark and killing the Ogre King.

Beauty Ideals

Human like ideals of Beauty is common, though Dwarfs value endurance and robust physiques more than humans do. a male must have a full beard, often decorated and platted.

Courtship Ideals

Egalitarian, though females are expected to adventure less. females make up only 25% of births.

Relationship Ideals

they are a partnership for betterment of the individuals and their clans. Love developes over time
