Benniged

The peaceful farms and plentiful seas of Benniged made their people wealthy and trade flourished. The strong rule of King Tancred the Wise forged alliances across land and sea, and none dared challenge the shield-brethren of Benniged.   King Tancred the Wise died 6 years ago. His sons and daughter divided the kingdom and now rule their own petty kingdoms in a state of constant tension, boiling over periodically into short, brutal and ultimately fruitless wars. The old alliances lie in tatters and greedy thanes spy opportunity in the strife.   Over the sea the orcish kingdoms are embroiled in their own wars, but a strong warlord is emerging and uniting the clans, and may soon turn his gaze across the storm-wracked gulf in search of new conquests.   The forests of the world have grown more perilous of late, and the folk who live in the shadow of the trees report increasingly strange occurrences on their borders. Many of the forests are home to the faerie folk and it is possible the barricade between worlds is drawing thin.   In this realm of turmoil, opportunities abound for the courageous to make a name for themselves, win a fortune, and quite possibly find great power.
