Vartoris'Nemal
Vartoris'Nemal was a new Keeper after the Dragon empire fell, trained by Aren’Valesh Vartoris'Nemal was a friend and lover of Aren’Valesh as he became a more powerful dragon and respected keeper in his own right. Eventually, Vartoris'Nemal reclaimed an outpost of the Draz Tyran on the northern border of Xalandis and the Dawn Peaks. From there he gathered other dragons to live together for safety, eventually forming into a flight with Vartoris'Nemal as the leader, at least grudgingly so at first. He still sought council from Aren’Valesh and even welcomed new dragons to his flight that were brought his way by Aren’Valesh, until the day he died. To Vartoris'Nemal’s eternal shame and despair his beloved friend and mentor perished just miles from his flight. He felt his beloved friend’s death and led a host of dragons to investigate and avenge him, only to be met with a crater of crystallized magical energy and no sign of the dragons Aren'Valesh was to bring to the flight. In his despair Vartoris'Nemal used his considerable arcane talents to create a demi-plane between the material plane and the Arcane realm for him and his flight, many thought it was to protect them further. Those closest to Vartoris'Nemal knew that he couldn’t bear to be so close to the spot his friend had died, knowing he was so close and could have helped. Despite his crushing despair he still ruled over his flight keeping them together and provided for, in a strange way seeing them as his, and his friends adopted children or their flock to protect. His mind made the decision that allowed at least one flight to survive the dark age.
His flight remained in the demiplane until the arcane shuddered, he knew what it meant the Tyrannus crown had been claimed, all the dragons of his flight felt it but only the elder truly knew what it meant. So he brought his flight back to the newly restored Xalandis and found not only Xoln thriving but the new Tyrannus building the empire anew, aided by the son of his lost friend Narolth’T’Saren serving in the role his father had before him as keeper of the Tyrannus memory stone. Learning of what transpired with the son of his beloved friend only broke his heart further though, and while his flight worked to aid the empire he returned to his solitude and slept unable to bear the grief that his friend’s soul had been destroyed. Perhaps he didn’t listen after Narolth’T’Saren had said this but he didn’t grasp on to the son’s desire to reforge the pieces of the soul, but on the day the soul was made whole again by the Tyrannus Crown Vartoris'Nemal once again stirred as the Arcane took on a suddenly familiar presence, Vartoris'Nemal was one of the first dragons to connect what happened, that upon reforging Aren’Valesh ascended to godhood, becoming the god of magic. In short order Vartoris'Nemal dedicated his flight to the furthering off Aren’Valesh’s goals becoming the dragon god’s high priest in so doing.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Valtoris'Nemal is in excellent health and physical condition, having always been blessed with a hearty constitution even among dragons.
Body Features
His scales are all capped with golden filigree that seems to be bolted into the scale to hold it in place.
Facial Features
Two large forward-facing horns curve out just below his earfins, from the back of his head there are four horns, two smaller ones that curl like a ram's, and the others of equal size to the front-facing horns have a very gradual spiral like a Spiral Horned Antelope. Six barbels form his 'beard' four being under the very point of his lower jaw, with the other two just under his nostrils.
Physical quirks
When dealing with those of smaller size than him he often lays down putting his elbows on the ground in front of him and resting his lower jaw on the tops of his interlaced fingers, watching unblinkingly.
He has been known to randomly have his servants apply dyes to his wing membranes to cause them to have different patterns and colors when the sun shines through them.
When needing to become more intimidating he can cause his scales to rattle rather like rattlesnakes.

Like many dragons he has a trove of jewelry he can wear whenever it suits his fancy, often this is rings or horn bangles. Some of his favorites include:
A nose ring with a single golden chain that moves up his snout and splits into four, on each side one chain goes above and the other below his eyes before reconnecting and hooking into two bangles on the base of his ram horns, sometimes this also has other jeweled chains hanging just low enough to veil his jaw.
The most common accessory he is to have is a pince-nez attached by mithral chain to an also mithral loop put into the base of his right forward facing horn, these lenses are rumored to have true seeing enchantments.

As with all dragons, he has a massive ego, but there is a certain charisma he uses with it, he will rarely boast himself about his accomplishments or prowess, instead preferring to hear that from others. It is hard to pin him down as an extrovert or introvert as those he is seen with are usually his flight or trusted friends and family that do not drain his energy as much, but there are times when he sequesters himself away from everyone.
Mannerisms
He will offer a flash of insight or wisdom but then when asked about it, he will retort with 'What do you think it means?' or 'What do you think it is?'. He is rarely forthcoming beyond that unless there is some need to do so.
Unlike some dragons when other races come to meet him his staff will advise that they go before him naked to prove they do not wish to harm him by being unable to hide a weapon. This is something of a test, as those who are willing to stand before a dragon with nothing to protect them in any way are doing so for a reason they believe in. Finding out what this belief is tends to intrigue him more than those who refuse.

He spends a great deal of time furthering his knowledge of the Arcane even taking sojourns into the Arcane. When he is not focusing on the Arcane he takes great joy in sculpting in any medium, though stone, black marble, is a favorite of his.
He often refers to his consorts as pets, but with a caring tone to his words even if the word is demeaning to some. Spending time with his friends and pets in more intimate ways forms one of his larger hobbies as he is a lecherous being.
