The Shivius Mists

"Know you that our water comes from the great misty spire? From the roots of the eldest tree does life spread. But know you that you must never tread upon that most sacred of places."   Many, many legends surround the Shivius Mountain, as the single tallest peak within Savorah it can be seen for many, many miles piercing the clouds. Some say it is the last bits from when the world was cast, others that spirits of earth sought to reach into the sky in defiance of air. None of these are are prevelant or as unified as one myth, about the mists that cling to the mountain.

Summary

Anyone and anything that travels past the Mistblade mountains is never heard from again as if they were simply plucked out of existence. Travel companions have seen the leader venture into the mist, their footprints being all that is left of them and vanishing as soon as they enter into the mists.

Historical Basis

There have been many, many expeditions to the Shivius mountain, none have ever been successful either due to the terrain of the Mistblade mountains before one can even get close to the Shivius Mountain. Or the mysterious mists that permeate the area, far too thick and resistant to the movements of the wind it clings to the mountain as if alive guarding the mountain against others.

Spread

The myths about mountain travel even further than the mountain itself can be seen. They are told to children far too curious or adventurous as a means to quell such tendencies.

Variations & Mutation

After the basic point of nothing every coming back, the myths diverge some think the mists lead to the fey realms where trespassers are subject to the cruel nature of fey. Others that it leads to the ethereal plane where the lost will wander forever lost within the endless mists.
