Sunderer's Steppe

Geography

The Sunderer's Steppe is a barren wasteland devoid of plants and life. The only things to exist within the broken land are the faded remains of the Reckoning of the Gods. There are great fissures in the ground said to be the result of the gods fighting and terrible magics being used, the very footsteps of Ruul'Rathor, the god devourer are said to still be there. The steppe is as near to a monument to the Sunderer as there can be for it is what she desires, total destruction.

Ecosystem

The only breeze comes from outside of the Steppe and blows stale air around, no grass, moss, or fungus grows here. Devoid of everything even insects the broken bodies that lay there are sun-bleached bones with rusted and crumbling equipment.

History

It is said during the war of the gods that the steppe was where the Sunderer struck forth from with legions of orcish slaves and monsters bent on destroying the world. During one of the many battles, the Sunderer was injured by the Blightbringer her blood spilled into the ground and the Blightbringer took the chance to taint the blood corrupting the land with the Sunderer's malevolence and hatred for all that exists, and preventing the orcs, a stolen remade plague from being able to grow within the land of the Sunderer's Steppe.   The mixing of such vile forces has also trapped the spirits of those slain in the Steppe in a form of death that no one has been able to undo. Spectral undead rise at sundown and fight their last battles, again and again, being burned away in the light of the day. There are several faiths that have poured resources into trying to undo the lingering effects of the war of gods. An appeal was even made to the Tyrannus in ages past to undo the damage, which was rejected as it served as a scar, to remind the world of what happened so it could never happen again. The Draz Tyran did keep an eye on the area to make sure the malignant essence of the land did not spread further but has otherwise taken no action.

Tourism

Only the foolish seek to try and come here, for the very land has been tainted by the will to destroy all that exists, the legend that the Sunderer's blood was shed and spilled into the land corrupting it is a popular one.
