The Perfect Storm
The Fiction
Supposedly, towards the end of the Elven Empire, the main elven settlement on Iguanos known as Therato was attempting to steal away the largest group of lizardkin that was ever transported to the mainland ever. As they were attempting to get the lizardkin onto the boat, The Slithering Storm attacked the island, specifically Therato. A devastating storm filling with lightning, rain, thunder, hail, sleet, and snow struck down from the Slithering Storm above, sinking all of the ships the lizardkin were on, with only elven casualties. After this, the surviving elves left the island and never came back. The Facts
It is true that around 200 NE, there was a terrible storm at the elven settlement on Igaunos called Therato. However, it is unlikely that The Slithering Storm showed up. Several of the elven ships were destroyed and several lives were lost, but the most damaging part of the storm for the settlement's future was the stockpile of supplies that were destroyed by trees falling down on the building they were after being struck by lightning. Within the next few years, what was left of the settlement was abandoned, largely due to the elves pledging to desist from imperialist action after invading the orcish kingdom, but also partially due to the amount of money lost due to the damages from the Perfect Storm, with the king refusing to spend more funds to restock the supplies at Therato. However, the truth of the matter does not stop the lizardkin of Iguanos from telling his story whenever the topic of the elves abandoning the island comes up.Remove these ads.
