Akiritech
Utility
Akiritech is an area of technology used to pierce through the bounds of the material plane, allowing one to enter the plane of the Mind, Akirio, specifically the region concerned with dreams and the unconscious. It started out only as a small knife that could be used to cut a hole between dimensions, as well as kind of "tape" that would patch up the hole. However, soon after this first use was discovered, Akiritech was added to weapons and the like to allow soldiers to attack people's dreams and minds without needing to attack them physically. Additionally, some forms of Akiritech were used to enhance the capabilities of others by giving them good dreams.
Nowadays, Akiritech is only used by a group called the Crystalline Shard, a collection of rangers with access to salvaged Akiritech that use it to combat monstrous creatures from Akirio that seek to infiltrate the material world and cause chaos.
Manufacturing
The creation of Akiritech involves both complex circuitry that is difficult to replicate in the modern day outside of with the help from an autochine or offworlder. Once the circuitry is made, a powerful enchantment is necessary to be placed on the technology which gives it the power to pierce through the barriers between worlds. To get Akiritech specifically with this enchantment, one must have the correct wiring to configure it to cut into Akirio. Otherwise, it may go to a different plane of existence.
Access & Availability
At the time of its discovery, akiritech was only really used by the dragulin kingdom's military and was used in minor ways against the orcs during their warring. In modern day, it is even rarer, as the only group that has it is the Crystalline Shard.
Complexity
Akiritech is a complex technology that requires some level of magic to use, at it pierces through the bounds of the material plane.
Discovery
Akiritech was one of the sciences discovered by the old dragulin kingdom before its collapse. It was only really discovered for about fifty years or so before the kingdom's collapse, so there was no real chance for it to find any real grip on society before being lost and forgotten for a long time.
