Physical & Chemical Properties
When mined the are in a dormant state and indistinguishable from mundane agates; when touch by a living being their true nature is revealved. Depending on the size and quality of the stone touch them can cause a small electric tickle to being rendered unconscious; there are wild rumours that circulate mining communities about a stone so perfect it struck dead the first to touch it.
Geology & Geography
The dwarven lands of LairigMor are the major producers of elemental stones in general. Whether this is because they are naturally more prevalent there or whether it is simple the dwarves mining prowess is often debated in other communities, though the dwarves themselves are very guarded on exactly how deep their mines go.
There are more rumours surrounding a surprising new source of Geasan Dealan deep in the The Sands of Shuna though these remain rumours and many prospectors have disappeared trying to find the source.
Origin & Source
The dwarves do not openly discuss the secrets of mining and very little is known, however, a few other mines have lucked into veins of elemental stones and these have always been amongst crystal clusters in hydrothermal vents. There is a lot of speculation that dangerous deep mines into volcanic areas are where the biggest and best quality stones are.
