The Sword of Hugar Item in Bavo'Sand | World Anvil

The Sword of Hugar

A sword isn't from Bavan but it is where it laid for the past 3 millennium, till Robin Goodfellow picked it up with no knowledge of what it was or just how dangerous it was. Hugar maybe was the world, or the area were the sword became what it is now, no one sure. But all civilisations know of its legend.   The Sword of Hugar is a sentient weapon like no other, one of two personalities, one of the gods and one of the devils. Astrape and Xaxier are so interwine within the blade there is no way to remove one without the other, so anyone wielding the blade as to deal with both the Dark and Light. Both are able to help the wielder with different abilities and happy to do so as whoever powers are used gain more control within their struggle of who is in ascedancy.

History

The blade was supposely the weapon Astrape used in her holy wars in ages past to fight the Devils Worshipping People of her homeworld, she was might in power and devout in believe, supposely one of the first Mortals gifted powers directly from a god, (one of the first Divine Blood). a cabal of Shaman's summoned fore a great legion of Devils, lead by a Lord of Hell, Xaxier. None could stand against him, and his legion reaped such death and destruction, till Astrape stood against him, and with an oath to her god to trap Xaxier forever with her own soul if needed, she fought him in a mighty dual, one of the ages, at the end Xaxier stood over her, she was defeated and dying and the next anyone knew both were no longer there and the only thing left was her blade with sparks of Red and Blue sparking up and down the length of the blade.   One of her closest advisors picked it up and said he could hear her voice and that of the devils offering knowledge and guidance. Which of cause he ignored the Devils but listened to Astrape, he was the first wielder of the blade but not the last.   How it came to laid in a ruined part of Cityship in the back corner world of Bavan is unknown, other than the La'shen have always taken an interested in powerful artifacts and stories of greatest, so probably had taken it off the blades last wielder or out of some tomb and carried it in their ship for some unknown reason before it crashed and it laided for generations alone and unwielded.
