Abhorred mortality

Without acceptance, one only looses themselves.

Wilkon - Writing
In a time long gone an ever-powerful arch-mage, realized that while he has amassed power throughout his life his mortality was catching up with him, his body was frail, bones aching. Life magic has only taken him so far it would not be long until he dies.

He thought of solutions, Lichdom was too restrictive and a constant supply of souls was not manageable, cloning is impossible due to his body’s frail state, cloning would only be keeping him in a frail prison. Reading into taboo tomes and books he came across an ancient tale about a man that transformed himself into a demi-god, this arch-mage set out to find this deity.

While he was travelling he was attacked by creatures,
A rat chewed at his finger ripping the nail off,

A raven pecked his eye out sitting it in his beak,

A wolf bit into his chest ripping out his ribs,

And a rabbit stole his ring, adorned with a large ruby

Rotting away with a disfigured body he crawled into a derelict temple, blood stained the walls and in front of him a skull sat still, the dying mage called out the deity’s name “Stryx, son of crimson, born anew. I humbly ask that you prolong my life, for my work must not be for nothing, I give you my heart and with its last natural beat, save me from my death.” The mage digs into his torn & rotting chest pulling out his beating heart and holds it high, however, the skull sits still, he drops the heart sorrowful and in his last breath, his last glimpse of life, a bat lands on his heart and starts eating it.
