The Caragan Shore

The Caragan Shore is a region surrounding the coastal trade city of Caragan. There are various small town spread about, mostly dotting the coast but some lining the nearby Vosk River and the newly built railroads. The populace of the area is diverse, and while the majority of denizens are human it is common to see orcs, elves, and dwarves going about their daily business both in the city and the surrounding areas.

Geography

The coastline near Caragan lined with steep stone cliffs, although there are some areas where the surrounding plain slopes gently to sandy beaches. The main harbor of Caragan is built in one such area, and is the only accessible sea port in the region. Stretching to the East are smooth plains and rolling hills, dotted by small forests and lakes, and run through by the Vosk River which runs from the distant Crakk Peaks. To the West lies the Crystal Sea. Most shipping occurs up and down the coast, but more intrepid sailors also make passages across the sea to the distant land of New Haven.

Fauna & Flora

Cargan is in a temperate region, and is surrounded by small oak and pine forests teeming with life ranging from squirrels and boar to a variety of birds. The sea is home to a bounty of fish, and fisheries dominate the trade of smaller towns nearby. The Vosk River, as well, is home to a variety of marine life and at the mouth of the river a small estuary contains an assortment of unique species as well as an intermingling of river and sea creatures.

Natural Resources

Fish from the sea and wood from nearby forests provide much of the fodder for trade in Caragan, but its strategic location as the only accessible port in the region is it's single most important commodity. Trade flows through Caragan daily, and shipping and warehousing are its primary industries.
