Ponmery
The capital city of Zochakha. A heavily guarded and sacred place in Zochakha. The capital city is home to the first temple dedicated to Mardros, Kukona god of destruction and battle and Pathik the Spider god. This is sacred ground and only a select few people are allowed to enter at a given time. Ponmery works similarly to other capital cities, but unlike the others the population is very low. They try and maintain a perfect area for the temple and shrines to still exist even when the ones guarding it are no longer serving to protect it.
Ponmery was named this because in Zochakhan Ponmery means "Peace." Not a word used often in daily activities, but a word to describe the type of attitude one must adopted when entering into their sacred city. Additionally no blood is allowed to be spilled in Ponmery as it might anger the gods they worship. Ponmery does have a small population, but it is still a capital city nonetheless. The whole city is sitting on an island that is surroudned by croc and piranha invested waters. The draw bridge doesn't just let anyone it, even if Queen Boku specifically requests them herself. The bridge lets in the first 5,000 people at dawn. And anyone else trying to get in must fight one of the 10 guardians of Ponmery. These are giant stone constructs brought to life by Mardros herself to protect the sacred temple.
There are no shops in Ponmery only places to eat, pray, sleep and fight. You will find the most intense fighting arena anywhere in the world in Ponmery. The trick is you aren't allowed to spill blood so the fights end up being an endurance test of punches and kicks. Anyone who causes someone to even spit blood will be taken outside the sacred city and brutilized. There are little to no laws in Ponmery, but this is one everyone obeys. The faith of those who live in Zochakha is stronger than any religious faction. So much so that foreigners could mistake villages for cults.
Demographics
Orcs, Ogres, Lizardfolk, grungs, goblins, hags, Bugbear, centaur, dragonborn, firbolgs, goliaths, half-orcs, hobgoblins, kenku, skeletons, tieflings, pretty much any race that isn't human or elf.
Government
Only the leader of Zochakha has any kind of power. The title can easily be taken by anyone who dares challenge the current leader, Queen Bonku "The Wild".
Defences
The moat around the city is more than enough to keep out natural dangers. And anything that manages to get passed the moat will be met with the 10 construct guardians.
Industry & Trade
Zochakha doesn't have much trade with the other nations of Baephios, but rather the continent of Aramelgo.
Infrastructure
Ponmery is a very low technology, heavy tribal style city with lots of tents and very few stable buildings in the area.
Assets
What Ponmery provides are one of a kind religious and magical artifacts. Ponmery also has a large amount wood and medicinal herbs.
Guilds and Factions
Organizing guilds and factions are too formal to Zochakha and instead everyone is identified by the village they come from.
History
Ponmery was discovered right after the war with the Vridium Empire. After the defeat the citizens of Zochakha needed something to soothe their mind after a loss. Then they found the temple. It's a mystery of who created the temple but the founder of the city was Kroncrag "The Calm." He was able to calm the constructs and convice passage into the temple.
